Best Zero Carb Quotes!

ZC Wisdom

wisdomThese are from the old ZIOH Forum:

Eating meat sounds so restrictive only to those who are behind the veil.  Once that veil is lifted, one realizes that this really is the only way to be free of restrictions. – Margot 9/09

I’m just ‘standing my ground’ with confidence and a smile when it comes to social eating and it’s going well. Those close to me seem to be coming around a little. That is, not criticizing or rolling their eyes and actually trying to be a little more informed. Very cool. –Darcy 10/26/2008

It gives me the greatest sense of freedom; I am no longer held captive by my food. All is as it should be!! –Christiana 3/21/09

It’s OK to freak out, just don’t let the freak make you weak! It takes lots of time, patience, and conviction for this woe to take hold and become a healthy habit. Your body will fight to get you to go back to carbs; you have to fight back! –Ron 3/21/09

Some of your coping comes from your body feeling healthier by ZCing. Some of it comes from your mind working better, due to ZC. And I believe some calm comes from knowing you have found the answer. I walk around like I got some secret nobody knows about! –Maggie 3/21/09

ZC brings calm. I don’t think it necessarily helps you cope with your emotions, I think it moderates your emotional response to situations. Things you found to be stressful or anger-producing just don’t have the same impact as they once had. – Ron 3/21/09

As much as I love words of wisdom and I love to read, what has kept me on my ZC path is the tranquility of my body and calmness of my mind once I fully accepted ZC. The noise has ended and the music has begun.– Karen 2009

Now, reading people’s journals here and seeing the results people are getting, I feel for the first time like it’s possible that I might get truly lean. I might see the muscles that are hidden under my fat. I might have a body that’s really healthy and strong and fun to live in, instead of one that’s just adequate for carting my brain around.

This is the first time I’ve ever felt that I’m not fantasizing to want this, like it is really, actually possible. That’s an amazing incentive. I am in this to win this now. – Rose 2009

This is a forever thing, like a marriage: you make a lifetime commitment, but you make it work one day at a time. –Rose 9/27/09

Did I mention that you must never work out without sufficient days off? At least one day minimum in between workouts and the best is two to three. A proper workout micro-damages tissues, and uses up your store of energy reserves- this is what stimulates you to grow stronger/bigger. The day after a workout is used up just restoring you to the state you were in before the last workout, plus maybe part of the next day as well, if you are an advanced trainer and just increased your work load. The second day of (total) rest is when you will gain. You need only work each muscle once a week. A cycle of two and three days off is ideal in most cases. – The Bear

Every one of these struggles has taught me something I needed to know, but they have not been easy at all. However, I’m a stronger (and thinner) person now for having gone through and overcoming these challenges. –Daveo 8/8/09

The only way for me to enjoy life was to get off the blood sugar roller coaster and to have faith that my body will adjust with time. Bitching and moaning about giving up things I used to love does nothing for me but don’t get me wrong, it is not always easy. – Margot 8/8/09

It’s easy to forget that growth can be painful, but it’s necessary. – Tracy 1/5/09

There is so much more to life than food. An addiction makes it hard to see that. – CBNebraska 9/09

Truly, it’s not about the ins and outs of the diet or what you can and cannot eat. It’s not about when to eat, how much to eat, or any of the other small “kinks” that can be thrown into the mix to stall the inevitable…I mean, come on. It’s fatty meat and water. The rest is pretty much the mind not wanting to accept that it’s that easy or the addiction not wanting to give up what it demands.– Porterhouse Pixie, Sept 28/09

ZC doesn’t take the FUN out of eating; rather, it takes the ENTERTAINMENT out of eating. Once you stop seeing food as entertainment, you can eat it as fuel. That doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy every bite of your favorite cut, but you are not looking for the food to provide entertainment value for it. You can appreciate a great ribeye, or for me, my big ground beef bowl with French butter. When it is time for my main meal, I enjoy every bite. But I’m not looking at the clock thinking about snack time to “entertain me.” Katelyn 9/26/09

I’d rather “let go” of something because of a natural process, than have someone tell me I have to “give up” something. When I hear “give up” I dig my claws in deeper. “Letting go” allows me to breathe. – Calee 10/3/09

Fat SHOULD be an incredibly nutritious and valuable macronutrient because it tastes fantastic. Why on earth would our taste buds lie to us? It tastes good because it IS good. Ah simplicity. ZC is the ultimate reality check, in which you can actually trust what your body tells you, because you are actually giving it what it needs. – Wolfwood 6/8/09

The Journey is never over. That’s the exciting part. That’s the part that most people “Fear”, but if you embrace it, you enjoy the ride, you learn so much about yourself… You no longer are afraid of “Change”. – Laurie 10/4/09

Therein lies the beauty of ZC: the lack of emotions or guilt attached to the food. It is such freedom. It changes everything. – Lesley 10/7/2009

ZC has totally removed the urge to binge and the obsessive thoughts of food. Plus the mental changes I have experienced are priceless. I’m calmer, smarter, and far more motivated.– Wolfwood 10/11/09

If I hear ‘we are all so different’ one more time I am going to scream.

What I REALLY want to scream at them is:

THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT ABOUT ME AND YOU IS THE FACT THAT I WAS WILLING TO GIVE UP ALL THAT SHIT LONG ENOUGH TO SEE A DIFFERENCE YOU CARB ADDICTED ASSHOLE! – Margot 5/26/11

More quotes will be added as I find them.  🙂
